Homecoming at Purnell Swett Purnell Swett held its homecoming week October 18-22 as students engaged in various activities to highlight school spirit. Student council members organized, the week to involve students and faculty to participate freely and openly and just have good clean fun Monday was a day of hats and shades. Tuesday, copy cat day as students dressed alike as couples or imitated the dress of a character. Wednesday, bender gender, females dressed as guys and the guys disguised themselves as females. Thursday, students came dressed with their pajamas on. and Friday, everyone was asked to wear school colors, gray . white and navy. ' Friday afternoon during Purnell Swett's seventh period, the school was released to involve, students faculty, and staff in a pep rally to heighten spirit for the homecoming game against Anson County. Purnell Swett's cheerleaders performed various cheers and dance routines (that enticed students to show their homecoming spirit. MISS PAGEANT HELD IN OCTOBER Rebekab Revel* was crowned Junior Miss Lumbee 1993-94 on Saturday. October 9. 1993 at Given* Performing Arts Center in Pembroke. N. She was among nine contestants vying for the tide of Jr Mm Lumbee The theme was Doll Patch. USA. Rebekah is the fifteen vear old dairefater of J.D. and Deena Revels of St Pauls. NC As a tenth grade hooor roll student at St. Pauls High School, she is a member of the Student Government Association. Native American Student Organization, and Spanish Club. Rebekah is in the Academically Gifted Program She has never missed a day of school from kindergarten through tenth grade. She is a member of the Broadway Babtes Performing Group ofRobeson County She has been a Summer Stage II Drama student at the Carolina Civic Center for the past four years Rebekah is a member of Ten Mile Center Baptist Church where she has a lifetime perfect attendance record. She's also a member of the Dixie Darling 4-H Club This summer Rebekah enjoyed having a Japanese exchange student stay with her in her Rebekah sang a Gospel Interpretation of 'Unshakable JCingdora" by Sandi Patty for her talent competition "Becoming Jr. Miss Lumbee will Ipve me * chance to be a positive rote model to my peers.
